The Austrian village Haus im Ennstal in Styria is a well known ski resort with a skiable field of 115 kilometres offering 52 ski lifts. The first ladies World Cup races took place in 1981 and again in 1983. In between, the venue was the scene of the ladies events of the World Championships in 1982. Since then, Haus has been the host of ladies World Cup races at irregular intervals with the last being in 2004. In the past, Haus has carried out ladies downhill and super G as well as giant slalom and slalom events. For the downhill race, the start is at 1440 metres above sea level and for the super G 100 metres lower. The giant slalom starts at 1120 metres whereas the slalom start is placed at 913 metres. The finish area is for all four disciplines at 740 metres above sea level.

With the 2009/10 season the ladies World Cup is returning to Haus during the first week of January. The slopes have especially for this upcoming season been adjusted and improved to meet World Cup standards . Holding the races will allow the venue organizers to get ready in time for the 2013 World Championships  in Schladming.
