At today’s board meeting of Swiss-Ski, the former ski champion Pirmin Zurbriggen and winner of four overall World Cup titles, two Olympic and 9 World Championships medals, has announced his immediate resignation. He had taken this decision after careful consideration and in consultation with his family.
"I had the opportunity for two years to gain an insight into the association's structures and to collect very rewarding and interesting experience." In the course of these two years, Zurbriggen realized however that the effort to change things on a national level lies beyond what he is willing and able to put in timewise.
For that reason, Zurbriggen wants to devote his time in the future increasingly to his family and various private and professional projects.
Swiss-Ski regrets the departure of Zurbriggen, who brought much expertise and experience to the supervisory board.
