Lindsey Vonn (USA), who dominated the ladies' Audi FIS Ski World Cup with 11 season victories and amassed no less than four crystal globes also topped the inter-discipline FIS World Cup prize money rankings with her total earnings of almost half a million Swiss francs. Justyna Kowalczyk (POL), the overall winner of the Viessmann FIS Cross-Country World Cup, is the runner-up not only on the ladies' side but overall. Thanks to 11 podium appearances including victory in the lucrative FIS Tour de Ski, Kowalczyk's season prize money winnings amounted to CHF 366'250. Didier Cuche (SUI), who led the men's rankings netted CHF 334'850, was followed by the men's FIS Cross-Country World Cup champion Petter Northug (NOR) who made CHF 321'500 despite losing the Tour de Ski victory in the Final Climb. Carlo Janka (SUI), the men's FIS Alpine Ski World Cup champion finished 3rd. Due to the rule change introduced for this season in the Bauhaus FIS Ski Jumping World Cup that rewards not just the top 10 but the top 30 jumpers in any given World Cup event, Simon Ammann (SUI), winner of the overall Ski Jumpingseason rankings, ended up 9th overall with CHF 164'900.
