Swiss ladies training camp in New Zealand

The Swiss ladies stood on top of the ridge and looked back to a busy week. The training conditions were optimal, as the coaches had even arrived a few days earlier to prepare the slopes in Round Hill. The daily schedule looked like this: training, eating, sleeping, exercising, eating, .... Some days the ladies trained up to three disciplines. This was a very intense, but rewarding schedule.

On the last day the team packed the slalom skis, poles and a harness. Then were instructed by Wolfi, the ski instructor from Europe, how to make it up the Nutcracker lift. The challenge was not to break the fingers. A little nervous they hung themselves with the special equipment into the rope and went into the air (700 meters). The lift is called the Nutcracker because the hanging device operates on the principle of a nutcracker. With their own efforts, they pressed together the hinged nutcracker and the rope and were carried upwards. After reaching the finish, the Swiss ladies team admired the stunning views, took some photos and enjoyed the descent. This was a nice experience for everyone, but now the hard training of everyday life is at the forefront again. Despite being tired, they enjoyed the three-hour drive to Queenstown. After settling down in the apartment of the Pinewood Lodge, they were looking forward for the next day to come. The free day began with a hearty breakfast followed by sightseeing in QT-Downtown!

After a day off, the team had recharged the batteries and strapped on the skis fully motivated to race around the gates on the perfect but icy slopes....
