Anja Pärson felt strong pain in her knee in Sunday's Audi FIS Ski World Cup super-G in Are (SWE). She has today undergone an MRI and was assessed by national team doctor Per Liljeholm in Umeå.

"The scans are looking good and there have been no new injuries. I will travel to Tarvisio tomorrwo Tuesday where we will see if I can ski again," says Anja Pärson.

The pain is coming from old injuries but that should subsidy with rest.

How long a rest is required is not known at this time.

"It is very painful when I bend but otherwise it is ok. I choose to travel to Tarvisio tomorrow in particular so that I can have treatment in the form of massage, cycling etc with our physiotherapist. I have to rest but how long, we'll see. It feels nice to know nothing is broken and hopefully I can be back to skiing as soon as possible," Anja says.

"Anja has a little known injury in her knee which can create symptoms she now has when the knee is subjected to hard hits. Those symptoms are recognized and there is no danger of something more serious or no signs of new injuries that would need to be treated in some particular way, says team doctor Per Liljeholm.
