Following the training camp on the snow of Ushuaia, Giuliano Razzoli returns his concentration to physical training before the first on-snow camps on the European glaciers. The 2010 Olympic champion in slalom has been consequently following his coaches' plans.
"I am feeling well," says the 27 year old Villa Minozzo (Re) resident. "This summer I have finally managed to do more slalom gate training than ever before due to a series of small setbacks that always took me out of rhythm. This time things are working out better and I knock wood - it is important to continue to train at this level of consistency. I am still missing something a little bit to be on the very top but there are still almost two months of time before we travel to Levi so there's still time to get there."
The past season did not go according to the plan and was under the results expectations with the only exception being the 2nd place in Alta Badia. Regardless Giuliano maintained his spot in the first group (currently ranked 13th in the World Cup Starting List) and the next two seasons are important with the Worlds in Schladming and the Games in Sochi where Razzoli will be defending his title. "I have shown to have the technical qualities to stay on top, and I am confident I still have a lot to give to the sport of skiing and the possibility to score important results - which is something I want to prove in the coming months."
