Race week preparations underway in Kitzbühel, Austria

Jury inspection on Sunday

Normally there is a jury inspection held on Sunday early mornings before the Kitzbuehel race week. This time it was with jury member and FIS race director Helmuth Schmalzl, who arrived directly from the Lauberhorn races in Wengen on Saturday night.

Together with downhill chief of piste Herbert Hauser and Sepp Wurzenrainer, who is in charge of the fences along the course, the Streif piste was inspected to get a first impression of the conditions. After the jury inspection it was declared, that the Organizing Committe of the Hahnenkamm races did an excellent job in preparing the course during the past few weeks. Peter Obermoser and his team of course setters flagged out a provisional downhill course.

Finishing the stadium

Today, Sunday before the start of the race week preparations are continuing for the Organizing Committee of the Hahnenkamm Races, Kitzbühel Ski Club. Enormous efforts are being undertaken to prepare the race courses and also to provide good infrastructure for the spectators.

There is still enough time to get everything ready for the race days. The stadium for the downhill has already been set up and the slalom stands are being installed. The scaffoldings for the five video walls will soon be ready, so the big TV screens can be installed. The Organizing Committee of the Races in Kitzbühel, Austria is proud to manage all of this within a short time period, in order to tap the full potential. The sanitary facilities with running water and sewer junction are fully installed on the premises. The sound equipment is currently being set up.

All preparations are made according to plan. The spectators can look forward to a great sporting event.
