The first official site inspection for the City Parallel Event that will be carried out as part of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup 2010/2011 took place on Monday, 19th July 2010 in the Munich Olympic Park (GER). The core team led by Günter Hujara, FIS Chief Race Director for the men's Alpine World Cup, met with the key representatives of the German Ski Association (DSV), the Olympiapark München GmbH (Munich Olympic Park GmbH) and the Ski Club WSV Bischofswiesen who will stage the event on 2nd January 2011.

"Despite the relatively short time that has transpired since the very first contact about the organization of this event and the confirmation of the event as part of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup by the FIS Council in Antalya, we can be very satisfied with the current state of preparations," noted Günter Hujara.

"This is in no small part thanks to the great experience and professionalism of the main DSV partner in this undertaking, the Munich Olympic Park GmbH. The general infrastructure available at the Park has been tried and tested by many major events, all the way up to the FIFA World Cup in Football in 2006. Concerning the sport technical issues, most topics have already been put on the table, including the various options for snow-making, and we will conduct a separate technical inspection in September to discuss these further. With WSV Bischofswiesen we have a sports partner with much relevant know-how on our side."

He added: "It is already clear that the City Parallel Event will offer an excellent platform for everyone involved, from FIS to the organizers, teams and athletes themselves, to contribute and invest in something that will help increase the market value of the entire sport."
