Whilst the racers are enjoying well-deserved holidays, Ski Sport Finland has named the National Teams. Several new talents will be joining the experienced racers.

The ladies World Cup team consists, as in the past, of Tanja Poutiainen and Sanni Leinonen. The duo will be joined by Kristiina Rove from the European Cup team and Jessica Honkonen who is making a comeback after injury. The ladies will be trained by Italian Christian Thoma.

The men's World Cup team under the new Head Coach Janez Slivnik of Slovenia includes Marcus Sandell and Kalle Palander. Palander belongs to the team if he decides to continue his racing career.

"If Kalle can return to racing in good shape in the fall, he is part of the team. Kalle has been training and doing rehab, and if he can make a comeback, the door is definitely open to the World Cup team," commented Janne Leskinen, CEO of Ski Sport Finland. "I also expect that Marcus Sander to return to the top especially in giant slalom. We have also put a lot of effort in increasing his level in slalom in the spring snow training."

In the European Cup team, Andreas Romar will be joined by Samu Torsti and Victor Malmström (both born in 1991) and Santeri Paloniemi (born in 1993). All these racers rank within the top of the world in their age groups.
