Due to lack of snow and cold temperatures required to make snow, the women’s World Cup giant slalom and slalom races scheduled for 21-22 January in Maribor, Slovenia will be moved to Kranjska Gora.

Last year, temperatures in Maribor soared to 13 degrees during the race weekend and after nearly the first half of the field managed to make its way down the course for the GS, slushy conditions forced officials to cancel the races.

Kranjska Gora has been a regular annual host for the men’s races, but the last time the women’s World Cup stopped in the Slovenian resort was January 2007, when Nicole Hosp won the GS race and Marlies Schild the slalom.
