The organizing committee of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2013 will hold an International Youth Camp, from Feb. 4 to 10, 2013, coinciding with the World Championship events in Schladming, Austria.
Each country can send two participants (one male and one female) aged between 14 and 18 years old.
The focus of the event is to bring young people from around the world together to experience activities in the snow and to encourage their enthusiasm for snow sports - in particular through involvement in skiing. The focus is also on contributing to international understanding and to the creation and maintenance of friendly relations between the FIS member National Ski Associations. For the participating youngsters, the camp will be an opportunity to exchange views with youth from other nations on cultural and sporting levels. Please note that this is not an alpine ski racing camp and that there won’t be any training activities as part of this camp.
The camp will host 100 participants and consist of a social, educational and cultural program including skiing and visits to the competitions. It will also entail learning more about Schladming and the region of Styria.
The organizing committee will provide and cover the cost of the accommodation, meals, all activities, ground transportation and the airfare to Austria. Participants must speak English and be good skiers. If you are interested in participating, please contact your National Ski Association.
