The Funtastic ski races were staged at the competition arena located at the Ulla-hill and at the hill in John-Lindvallen. The organizers always try their best to make this fun event better, bigger and more fun than the year before. This time, people were able to test skis and take the chance to meet and compete with representatives from the various national teams.
Ski Funtastic is an event for those who love snow and skiing. It does not matter if you are young or old, like snowboarding or skiing, sprinting or go there for fun. You can enjoy a ski and snow-weekend that is out of the ordinary!
At the Ski Funtastic the winners are awarded the Miss Lindvallen title for the ladies and Mr. Lindvallen for the men. Most of the Swedish national team stars and even some international stars came for the Funtastic Ski-days and the Miss and Mr. Lindvallen races.
The men's race was won by one of the youngest Swedish World Cup skiers Axel Baeck, while Andre Myhrer got second and Mattias Hargin came in third. Contrary to the men, the veteran skier Anja Paerson won the ladies competition, followed by Frida Hansdotter in second and Lene Loeseth in third.
The Miss and Mr. Lindvallen races are among the world's largest with hundreds of people of different ages and groups participating. They are also the oldest races in the FIS-category and were held this past week-end. Members of the Swedish national team participated in many different disciplines with the aim of having fun in the snow while ski enthusiasts were able to meet the athletes.
There were racers from different disciplines including skiing, border cross, skicross; telemark, speed skiing and mogul skiing. The athletes were there to impress, write a lot of autographs whilst the public took the chance to get some professional tips from them.
In addition, 20 young participants have the opportunity to win a spot for the Funtastic Ski Camp - a training camp with the national coach of the Ski Association. The camp is paid by the Erik Paulson's fund supporting the alpine youth.
