The newly created speed group with head coach Mathias Berthold and coach Andi Evers has completed this week its first training camp for the World Cup season 2010/11 in Fuschl am See.

All downhill and super-G specialists of the national team and the a squad with the exception of Michael Walchhofer (still pausing) and Klaus Kroell (ill) were in the training camp under the direction of speed coach Andi Evers in "Ebner's Waldhof am See" in Fuschl, to lay foundation for the upcoming World Championship season.

The new ÖSV men's racing director Mathias Berthold said in a press briefing held at the time of the trainings camp that there is need for a separate speed group. "The trend points toward specialization. There are only very few runners in the world who can do all the disciplines. These we will, of course, continue to push," said the coach from Vorarlberg.

Romed Baumann and Max Franz started to sweat while rowing with speed-coach Andi Evers.

On the golf course Mario Scheiber & Co. had to trust the new men's head coach Mathias Berthold ability.

Andreas Buder, Andi Evers, Georg Streitberger, Hans Grugger and Mario Scheiber showed up in best spirits at the first joint training camp.
