LAKE LOUISE, Canada – The Swiss Ski Federation provided an update on the conditios of their skier Daniel Albrecht. The Swiss crashed in the second training run of the World Cup downhill in Lake Louise (CAN) and suffered a complex injury to his left knee. Albrecht came in the top section of an allegedly harmless point of the Downhill course called Wiwaxi.

With the Swiss Ski Team doctor Stephen Rickli always at his side, Albrecht had been transported to the Foothills Hospital in Calgary where an initial evaluation of his injuries has been done.  A full-body computed tomography has been performed and Albrecht even though the skier suffered minor bruises on his face,  there was no indication of a head injury.

The exact diagnosis of the knee injury is still pending. Daniel Albrecht will be transported back to Switzerland once released from the hospital.
