The Copper Mountain Resort snow making team is working around the clock for the anticipated early November open of the U.S. Speed Center - the only full-length downhill training facility open anywhere in the world at this time of year. After firing up the HKD guns on Oct. 2, Copper's mountain operations crew and Mother Nature has picked up the pace to prep the slope for training for the US team, along with national U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) club programs. Now in its second year of operation, the world-class training venue helped propel Bode Miller, Lindsey Vonn and Ted Ligety to Audi FIS Ski World Cup victories all before early December last winter.
