Alexis Pinturault returns to the snow

The French super talent Alexis Pinturault who had to undergo an operation on his left ankle at the end of July (see here) returned to the snow on Friday in Tignes.

"The first days on the snow went very well. I did not have any pain on my ankle. I could ski a few runs of giant slalom. Now I will concentrate on the basics on the skis, get ready to be fast...." commented the Courchevel native who is half Norwegian (mother Hege) and half French (father Claude).

Pinturault who scored his first World Cup victory and a total of six podium places last season finished 10th in the overall rankings last season and 4th in both the GS and super combined season rankings, at the tender age of 21. He is reportedly planning a return to competition at the Slalom Opening in Levi (FIN).
