The German ladies team continued their intensive preparations for the upcoming World Champs season right where it happens next year. After a week of road cycling in Cyprus the ladies spent 16th-21st June training in Haus im Ennstal.
Schladming will be the unquestionable highlight of the 2013 season and a good reason for the seven German ladies to pick Haus im Ennstal as their summer training base.
"We have great training opportunities here, and will especially profit from the efficient snow-making capabilities in the early winter. During the Worlds, we can use Haus as a great training slope“, explains German alpine director Wolfgang Maier. "We want to reduce the travelling time during the Championships in order to concentrate on the races."
Haus im Ennstal will be the official base of the German team during the Worlds, more specifically Hotel Herrschaftstaverne. The German Ski Association has cooperated with the community for several years already and have now extended the cooperation with the ski resort Hauser Kaibling to the official status of training base. The official DSV-Worlds Meeting Point for the fans will also be located in Haus im Ennstal.
The ladies‘training camp in Haus focused on intensive strength and endurance units. The mountain bike tour also integrated a skills parcourse with coordinative challenges.
